John Abraham took up his first job with Time & Space Media Entertainment Promotions Ltd and later joined Nexus as a media planner. John Abraham plunged into modelling when he won Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999 and became the first runner up at the Manhunt International, Philippines. John took up a few modelling assignments in Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York before appearing in TV commercials and music videos in India. John Abraham gained popularity with the Provogue TV commercial after which he decided to join bollywood as an actor. Prior to joining the film industry, John Abraham joined Kishore Namit Kapoor’s acting institute to prepare himself for Bollywood. John Abraham made his debut with 2003 release ‘Jism’, an average success that earned critical recognition for him. His next few projects like Bhatt camp’s ‘Saaya’ and ‘Paap’ and Ahmed Khan’s ‘Lakeer’ turned out to become critical as well as commercial failures.
